What’s your strategy for choosing the right mechanic you can trust?
I’ve had a few frustrating experiences lately where a simple issue turned into an expensive “fix,” and it got me thinking… how do you guys actually choose a mechanic you trust?
For me, I’ve started relying more on word of mouth than anything else. Friends, family, even local drivers often point you in the right direction. I also pay attention to how transparent the mechanic is. If they’re willing to explain the issue in simple terms and show the faulty part, that’s usually a good sign.
Another thing I’ve noticed, especially with japanese cars in pakistan, is that specialization matters. Some mechanics are great with local cars but struggle with JDM imports, so finding someone experienced with your specific type helps a lot.
I recently came across a few useful guides on Nobuko Japan while researching common issues and maintenance tips, which helped me ask better questions at workshops.
Curious to hear your approach. Do you stick with one mechanic or keep switching until you find the right one?
